26/01/2014 兼六園 雪吊 / Yukitsuri in Kenroku-en / pen and colour pencils
Yukitsuri (雪つり) is a technique for preserving trees and shrubs from heavy snow. Trees are given extra support by bamboo poles with ropes attached to limbs; whereas, shrubs are often tied tightly around the circumference. Yukitsuri is a common sight in Kanazawa and Kenrokuen Garden during the winter months. - description from wikipedia
MATILDA CREATIVE
After came back from UK… (actually I didn’t feel very sad at the time, perhaps knowing I will be back one day, but really miss the life in London…)
Matilda was preparing my studio- MATILDA CREATIVE, mainly for creative solutions, use all the skill that I can do and cooperate with other studio/artist, and also open for opportunities in the UK. (Looking for company that would like to work permit me, I will do everything! ...legal) haha
My first project back to Asia was creating wedding solutions for Howard and Niko’s wedding, which are including wedding invitation, small book for gift and videos for playing in the wedding.
wedding invitation design
喜帖設計
cause Howard like the way I did for traditional war (please check digital drawing) and stencil graffiti that I used to do..
wedding invitation design - there is a cup mat inside of the invitation
囍帖打開裡面有不織布杯墊可以取下
really love the texture of it
Wedding invitation design - cup mat, the shape is symbol of infinity... (can you see it?)
There are two cups you can put in one time.
自己把杯墊取名為 --- 好事成雙 無限大杯墊,一次可以放兩杯呦!
The photographic books are on the table...
還有婚禮附贈伴手禮在左邊的桌子上
Book illustration - Wedding Essence

At the beginning, the graphic designer and I had a discussion about style and how to present the illustrations for each chapter. A series of narrative and consistent illustrations represent a guide to organize a wedding. (...in a more romantic way)
The first book illustration of Matilda, it will be published at March 2009.

ASKR DECA

REVIEW:
ASKR DECA is a monster that feeds on human sorrow. He inhales sorrow and spews fresh air from the mouth behind his head. However, humans don’t like ASKR DECA, they blame him for eating their sadness completely and leaving nothing but emptiness. People therefore have no reason to feel sadness, and also no energy to pretend to feel sad. Even though they don’t feel sorrow anymore, they also cannot feel joy. The only thing that remains is tiring vacancy.
Fortunately, there is a lonely girl who feels sorrow most of the time. She does not have any human friends, because they think she is quite strange. Only ASKR DECA knows that her brain is full of fantastic imagination, just like living in a poetic world, and he admires her for that. So they become friends and have some fun. However, there is no reason to feel sorrow for her anymore, since the little girl has ASKR DECA as a friend. Day after day, ASKR DECA starts to feel hungry for sorrow. A demand for satisfying himself motivates ASKR DECA, ‘because in life it is impossible to be so propitious, there must be something wrong, and I am going to teach her this’ he thinks. He leaves the little girl back with her loneliness and feels sorrow finally, but there is one thing ASKR DECA did not consider: that humans can turn out fairly weak without the care of each other, and the weakness of humanity is able to kill almost anything.
Consequently, ASKR DECA can only inhale the sorrow that comes from himself.
Thanks Gavin for emendating the text.
Psychoanalyse

My big hairy bear, my blue-eyes Husky, my poor little young man. /gouache
I remember Foz always says 'I hate people consider that illustrations are all about illustrators themselves.' But for me, the thing to personalise drawings is quite important somehow, because that's the main motivation to keep me draw and feel. Well... I am not going to tell you what's it about anyway, cause it' s kind of personal. (But I can use big wash and colour background now, Foz. :P)
DRAWING!
SKETCHBOOK
Four for a Boy

“TRI·FLE” |ˈtrīfəl| n.
1. Something of little importance or value.
2. A small amount; a jot.
3. A dessert typically consisting of plain or sponge cake soaked in sherry, rum, or brandy and topped with layers of jam or jelly, custard, and whipped cream.
‘NO ONE IS INTERESTING IN YOUR TRIFLES!’ a friend told me one day.
At that time, I was doing research about human cells, because to compare with the whole universe, my life is just tiny as a cell that we rarely really consider about it. It is a composite thing combined with a lot of small events, a cellular something, which cannot be seen easily.
After that, I was started to observe friends surround me, those ordinary events happen within daily life. That was how the stories began, combined with the quote:
One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for a girl,
Four for a boy,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret never to be told.
Then drew stories on Japanese calligraphic paper scroll as a continuous drawing. Each story has its own style, material and stand by itself, but when you see the whole scroll, they thus become a whole, associated with many individual stories, as the same with the research I did about human cells. The scroll format also presents a ‘secret’ atmosphere, it is extremely private, to open it slightly then able to see next image, like traditional Chinese painting.
This is the four story. (but I actually thought to link three and four stories together before) I would like to play around with strange typeface :)
One for Sorrow - A Pigeon Girl

Because I draw on a scroll of Japanese rice paper, the format of this story is continuous drawing.
[Left: page2]
The owner is a successful old man, who is running pigeon racing business.
[right: page3]
He provides her a beautiful cage, luxury food, but he is always too busy with his pigeon racing business.
Seven for a secret never to be told - Cycle town
A flower is the leaf mad with love -Goethe
