'What green onion are you?'
Green onion are a common garnish for everyday food in Taiwan. They were cheap in the past, but the price once rose so high that citizens couldn't even afford them.
'你算哪根蔥(What green onion are you?)'is a Chinese proverb which means 'who do you think you are, you just like like a green onion?', but we can not say that now, because green onion became so expensive.
'Don't buy the green onions and the price will soon be reduced' the mayor of Kaohsiung city said.
Unfortunately, the best way to keep a balance in the prices of commodities is definitely not just refuse to buy them.
This was the first stencil graffito I made in Taiwan.
